Translate a sentence, screen or selection
Choose the right desktop translation mode and understand allowance, recovery and privacy.
Before sending
Translation is a desktop feature in the current implementation. Its release and service availability can differ from dictionary lookup; if your installed version does not show it, check release notes. Sign in and check the Translation benefit in your account before sending. Do not assume AI lookup allowance also pays for translation.
Successful translations use the actual input and output token amount, including reasoning. Failed translations use no allowance. Available gifts, expiration and Plus allowances are shown in your account; the guide does not promise a fixed or unlimited balance.
Translate text or the current sentence
- Use Translate sentence in the lookup panel, or open the desktop translation workspace and type or paste text. When signed out, use the sign-in entry shown there first.
- Check the source text and target language, then send. Read or copy the complete translation when ready.
- If the result is still being recovered after a connection problem, use the existing record to retrieve it. Start a new draft to change text that has already been submitted; retry a request only when it is shown as failed.
Translate a frozen screen or selection
- Freeze the target display and wait for recognition to finish. In Translation settings, choose Translate screen, or select a region and use the translation action next to Recognized text.
- Review the recognized source and target language before sending. The translation is laid out on the original frozen frame; switch between source and translation to compare. Unrecognized text cannot be translated.
- Automatic screen translation is optional and starts off. If enabled, a new frozen screen can start translation after recognition finishes. Skipping source review is a separate preference. Reopening a history record never starts automatic translation.
Recovery, history and privacy
Screenshots remain on this device. Translation sends the chosen text, target language and positions needed for layout to the translation service. It does not upload the screenshot, local dictionary files, notes or your word list. Account and request information is also processed to provide the service.
Temporary local records and their screenshots are retained for up to 24 hours from creation, with cleanup while the app runs or at its next launch. The service keeps results for up to 24 hours so you can retrieve them. Opening a screen record shows its original frame rather than capturing your current screen.
Deleting a record removes its local copy and unreferenced screenshot. It does not cancel an accepted request, refund successful usage, or immediately remove the service’s recovery copy. Text and images you explicitly export are not deleted by temporary-history cleanup.
