Work through a word book
Choose a book and train each small group through follow-write, spelling, listening and dictation.
Choose a book and session size
- Open Study, choose an available book and wait for its content to load. The book must be supported on this device; a displayed title alone is not enough for offline use.
- Set the total session size, small-group size and how many eligible due words may join each group. A session can contain 1–200 words; due words occupy slots within that total.
- Start or resume the session. Progress is saved so an interrupted session can continue from its checkpoint.
Understand the four stages
- Follow Write: see the word and its full book material while practicing guided input.
- Spell: type the spelling while target forms in the material are hidden; a correct answer reveals them.
- Listen: hear the pronunciation and type the word. Detailed material becomes visible after a correct answer.
- Dictation: recall the word from its own book example or meaning. After all small groups finish, words that need more practice enter the follow-write/spelling retry loop.
Read the material in context
Meanings, examples, phrases, related words and available pronunciation belong to the active book and current word. On desktop, an installed MDict entry may appear alongside it as extra reading, but it does not replace the book’s prompt or change accepted answers.
Due-word mixing uses eligible words from the current book that you have already reached. It does not pull a same-spelled word from another book. Practicing a due word here does not itself record a Review rating or change its FSRS schedule.
Resume and review later
A word first presented during training is added to the ordinary vocabulary collection, making it available to the shared learning workflow. Study checkpoints and book progress are separate from individual Review ratings.
Sign in to use supported account progress synchronization. A second device still needs the matching book content. When content cannot load, restore the connection or retry the book rather than substituting a different book with similar words.
