Sign in and keep learning in sync

Understand what travels with your account, what remains on each device and how to manage access.

Sign in when you need account features

  1. Open Account & Sync in the app, or Account on the website. Complete the sign-in flow and any requested verification.
  2. When a desktop or mobile sign-in asks for browser approval, check the device and code before approving. Return to the app to confirm it shows the intended account.
  3. Check sync status and allow pending changes to finish before moving to another device. Use the same account there and load the relevant learning content.

What synchronizes

  • Eligible vocabulary membership, word information, your notes, mastery or suspension state, and scheduling state follow the account’s sync policy.
  • Public book references and supported course progress let another device locate matching public learning material.
  • Captured sentences and reading context, local dictionary files and resources, private source associations, typed answers and individual review records remain device-local. Translation screenshots and temporary translation history are also local rather than vocabulary-sync data.

Check benefits rather than assuming unlimited sync

Free synchronization and Plus synchronization can have different limits. Check the current sync status, eligible word count and membership details in the app. If a limit pauses synchronization, local word management is still separate from that cloud limit.

AI explanations and translation have separate allowances. Membership, gifts and their expiry are shown independently where applicable. Use the Pricing and account pages for current offers, renewal terms and available payment options. Do not assume a membership purchase transfers your local dictionaries.

Manage devices, sign-out and deletion

Use session management to inspect and revoke access you no longer need. A session expiring pauses account synchronization; current mobile local use remains available, and private data is retained for signing back into the same account. Explicit sign-out switches the active local profile instead of merging it with another account.

Account deletion is requested through account controls. Read the confirmation for its scope and timing, and use any offered withdrawal flow if you change your mind. Deleting an account is different from deleting a local lookup, dictionary or translation record; consult the privacy policy for retention details.
