  • Your AALookup version, device model, and operating system version (or browser version for the website).

  • The exact error message, and a screenshot if useful. Remove personal information and secrets first.

Common questions

Word capture is not working on my Mac

Check AALookup's capture settings and the permissions it requests in macOS System Settings → Privacy & Security. Accessibility is used for native text capture; screen recording is used for OCR. After changing permissions, quit and reopen AALookup, then try the configured shortcut again.

An online explanation fails to load

Check your internet connection and remaining lookups in your account. AALookup adds online explanations when you are online and have lookups available. When you are offline or out of lookups, local dictionary cards remain available. Sign in to check your trial or Plus allowance. If an explanation still fails to load, include the error message when contacting support.

I need help signing in or syncing

Check your connection and make sure you are using the same AALookup account on each device. Try signing in on the account page. If the problem continues, email the developer with the error message and affected app version.

How can I retrieve my cloud learning records?

Cloud content saved during membership is retained after membership ends. Mastered cards saved only under the free plan stay on your devices after their cloud copies are removed, so a new device cannot restore them. For help retrieving records still held in the cloud, email support@aalookup.com from your account email. We will verify account ownership before sharing personal records. Do not send passwords or private reading text.

How do I delete my account?

Open Account & Sync in the app's settings, or the account page on this website, and choose Delete account. Type the account's email address to confirm. The account stops working at once. For 7 days you can keep it by signing in again and explicitly confirming that you want to withdraw the request; otherwise its data is deleted from AALookup's servers 14 days after the request, within 15 days at the latest, and the sign-in record within 30 days after that. Data on the device you deleted from is removed with the request; other devices keep only what they already hold offline.
